This policy explains how Scorebug collects, uses, and protects information when you visit scorebug.tv or use the Scorebug mobile app. Scorebug is operated as a sole trader by Kevin Fox, 185A Bridge Road, Ballymena, BT44 9QA, United Kingdom. The data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR is Kevin Fox.
If you have any questions, contact support@scorebug.tv.
The Scorebug app is designed to collect as little information as possible. Three categories of data are involved in normal use.
When you set up a match in the app, the team names, three-letter codes, team colours, sport, period configuration, scores, and tap timings are stored locally on your device. None of this data is transmitted anywhere until you tap Send at the end of a match. At that point, the match data is sent to our render server (api.scorebug.tv) along with the email address you provide, used solely to deliver your finished overlay file.
You enter an email address each time you request an overlay render. We use it for one purpose: to email you the download link for the rendered overlay video. We do not add it to a marketing list, do not share it, and do not retain it beyond the time needed to deliver your file (see retention below).
Once you upgrade to Scorebug Pro through Apple or Google in-app purchase, we generate a random identifier (UUID) on your device and send it to our server alongside the purchase receipt. This identifier lets the server confirm your device retains Pro access on subsequent matches without you needing to log in. The identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or Google account, and cannot be used to identify you outside the Scorebug system.
Scorebug does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, browsing activity, advertising identifier, biometric data, or any other personal information not listed above. The app contains no third-party advertising SDKs and no analytics SDKs.
If you choose to share app diagnostics with developers in your iOS or Android device settings, your operating system may automatically send anonymised crash logs and performance metrics to us. This data does not contain your name, email, or any identifier we can link to you, and is used only to fix bugs and improve app stability. You can disable this in your device privacy settings at any time.
The Scorebug website does not use analytics tools, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which logs your IP address and request metadata for the purpose of protecting the site against abuse and denial-of-service attacks. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which causes your browser to make a request to fonts.gstatic.com. This reveals your IP address to Google but no other personal data.
Scorebug Pro is sold as a one-off in-app purchase through Apple App Store and Google Play. We never see your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID or Google account details. Apple and Google handle the entire transaction and forward us only a cryptographic receipt that confirms a valid purchase took place. Refunds, payment disputes, and billing questions must be raised with Apple or Google directly through their standard refund channels.
We use the following third-party services to deliver the app. Each is a "data processor" acting on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle your data only for the purposes set out in this policy.
We do not sell your data, do not share it for marketing purposes, and do not transfer it to any party not listed above.
Some of the processors above (SendGrid, Apple, Google, Cloudflare) are based in the United States. When we transfer your data to them, we rely on the UK government's data adequacy framework with the United States and on the Standard Contractual Clauses (UK Addendum) where applicable. Match data and overlay files are processed and stored in the United Kingdom.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email support@scorebug.tv with the subject line "Data request". We will respond within 30 days.
Because we delete match payloads and email addresses automatically after seven days, by the time you make a request we may have nothing to delete or hand over. If you have purchased Scorebug Pro and want your device identifier removed from our entitlement database, request that explicitly and we will erase it. Note that erasing the entitlement record will revoke Pro access on that device.
Scorebug is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and, where the changes affect users of the app, surface a notice in the app itself.
